Egypt will host the 13th World Golf Awards on November 7 at Madinaty Golf Club, marking the first time the ceremony is held on the African continent. The selection highlights the nation's growing role in international golf tourism and reinforces its standing as a leading destination for global sporting events.
International media outlets, including Golf Today, Golf Business News, and Golf Industry Asia, have focused on the event, noting its significance in expanding the awards' geographic reach. The choice of venue reflects Madinaty Golf Club’s reputation for meeting high international standards, with integrated sports facilities and top-quality amenities.
Madinaty Golf Club, part of the Talaat Moustafa Group (TMG), has previously been named Egypt’s Best Golf Course five times and Africa’s Best Golf Course three times at the World Golf Awards. Its capacity to host major international tournaments was cited as a key factor in its selection.
Omar Hesham Talaat, Chief Executive Officer of Business Development at TMG, stated he was proud that Madinaty Golf Club had been chosen to host WGA 2026. He described the event as an important milestone in showcasing the quality of sports and golf facilities developed by the group to international standards.
Talaat added that hosting the first edition of the ceremony in Africa reflects the group’s vision of developing integrated destinations that combine sport with a modern lifestyle. He said this initiative helps strengthen Egypt’s position as a leading regional and international destination for golf tourism.
